What do we want our future to look like?

This is the last one in the AI series, for now.

I started it because I wanted to intentionally learn about AI — not just keep up with it, but actually understand it.

At first I thought I'd have endless things to share. Apps. Tools. Prompts. New discoveries.

But sharing apps and prompts started to feel generic — everyone's doing it, and there isn't always much more to say.

The more I've explored AI, the more complex my own thoughts have become.

I never thought I'd see headlines about AI wiping out humanity in 10 years.

Rogue AI agents infiltrating government systems.

The energy and water demands of data centres.

Bigger questions about jobs, education, creativity — what happens when machines increasingly do what humans have always done.

I started this series feeling quite positive about AI.

Now I feel far less certain.

And maybe that's the point.

I've learned that learning something doesn't mean you have to immediately decide what you think about it.

So I'm going to stop posting about AI and spend some time figuring out what I actually think.

And I imagine I'm not the only one.

One thing I keep coming back to is: what makes us human?

Maybe our creativity, emotional intelligence, intuition?

The ability to connect with another person?

Maybe the question isn't just:
“What can AI do?”

Maybe it's also:
“What are the qualities that make us uniquely human — and what do we want our future to look like?”
